Whats the Word? "THUNDERBIRD" 1966 Vintage Camper Trailer. Pull is beauty behind your Vintage T-Bird, or Rod. Stylish swept back tail, and gold side stripe. Garage kept for over 30-years!
Great Family Camper, or camper for couple. Plenty of room, sleeping space and great storage! Very nice original interior. Its like stepping back in time! Ready to camp.
Great camper with a big pull-out couch and drop-down dining table bed. Nice bathroom equiped with toilet and shower.
It has the ledgendary Thunderbird lines swept tail styling and a wonderful comfortable, well-kept vintage interior. It even has the original Thunderbird emblems and logos!
There are only a handful of THUNDERBIRD Campers left; and Thunderbirds in this fine shape are very very rare.
This beautiful old camper is ready to roll and in camp-able condition with a few tweaks here and there.
Camper has a full kitchen and original appliances. Stove, and Gas lamp are all powered with on-board propane and have not been tested. One propane tank, and the original gold tank-cover.
The connector is a 'small silver' standard "Round" connection. The hitch works with a 2-inch ball. Hitch coupler needs to be repaired or replaced. Rotary tongue jack is missing.
Camper has a small bathroom with a built in comode. There is the capped discharge exit below that allows dumping the a campground disposal station. Toilet has not been tested.
The batroom has a shower too.
The tires have not lost air in a year, but do show some age.
Tows well! Very streamlined and stable.
The dining room table area of the trailer has the windows surrounding all three sides. Windows look in great shape, one has a "BB"-pin-hole. Full size front window pebble guard-screen is in place.
The Aluminium skin is in good shape with hardly any 'love-bumps' that you would expect to see in a camper of this age. The exterior could be polished down, or repainted at your option. There are some pulls and tears on the aluminum skirt at the campers base.
The camper has a GREAT layout. Large closet, and bathroom are in the middle. Kitchen is in the middle. In the front there is a table that sits 4, then drops to make a bed.
The interior is clean panneling with sharp looking wooden cabinets.
Camper box is about about 17-feet long and can fit in most garages.
The inside of the T-Bird is great. It is very big and comfortable inside! It feels like a cozy livingroom at grandmas house. With two big sleeping areas - this is one compact camper that could proably fit 2 to 4 people. It might also easily serve as extra bedroom or a guest apartment!
Camper is easy to tow. It can be pulled by an SUV, a truck and a sturdy 6 or 8 cylendar car.
Please feel free to come-by and see the camper. I prefer that you see it for yourself. Send me an email or call ahead. BUT PLEASE let me know you are interested in the 1966 THUNDERBIRD! I have a few campers for sale on Tin-Can-Tourists so lets be sure we are talking about the same one.
Once the Camper sells I will mark it "Sold". So if you are reading this and it doesn't say "Sold" then I still have it.
Please remember this is a 43-year-old camper with all of its charm and age. The Fan is sold as-is. Its not right out of the show-room, and its not in perfect mint shape. If you are looking for a brand-new camper, this is not for you. Vintage camping is not for everyone. HOWEVER, if you want to go back to a time before "Nintendo" and the "I-Phone"; and if you actaully enjoy friendship and conversation around a campfire, and if you want to camp in a in a beautiful piece of Americana; and you take care of her; Well then she well may reward and your family a lifetime of memories and enjoyment for 43-years and another 43-years after that!
Currently the camper is in Massachusetts. Camper will be sold as-is with a valid Bill-of-Sale and other documents so you can register it in your state. If you want, I will provide an affidafid of ownership.
Delivery is an option. I can deliver within the New England States for $2 per mile from Zip Code 01451.
Also many people have told me they have good results with a company called "UShip.Com" for delivery. This is up to you to arrange. I can of course be available to meet who ever comes to pick it up, no problem.
